At SAWA JAPANESE HOUSE, we would like people to enjoy eating Japanese food in traditional way, using chopsticks.

Chopsticks take the place of all utensils in Japanese cuisine. Therefore, they can be used to cut, pick up, stir food and more. In Japan children use chopsticks from a very young age which increases dexterity and help promote fine motor skill development.

We will hold an event to help people become more familiar with chopsticks and the proper way to use them. We will be giving everyone a pair of chopsticks so that you can practice at home!

Adults and children are welcome to attend these 90 minute classes. It will be $50 per person and event will include a formal lesson, games, and end with eating some of our light meal with your newly developed chopstick skills.
